Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his first title for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open final.

The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a challenging season, winning just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.

The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in particular - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with former coach Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.

It is the player's initial title after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court since March of the previous year.

Success also means the Russian has won 21 victories at 21 various events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my children simultaneously, so to win a championship is really nice," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his previous six finals, featuring in Halle earlier this year.

The player's defensive strategy and frequent outbursts on court had caused observers to doubt if his skill to play at the top level was concluded.

However the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete aggressively, supported by an better serve.

The champion fought back from a break down in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

Both players exchanged break points in the following set before the challenger, striving for his initial tour victory, seized the initiative to create a third set.

He saved 4 early-game break points in a tight deciding set before Medvedev won the break to that score to secure the win.

Suitably, the winner secured the title with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
